Montana Ballot Interference Prevention Act information

Montana passed the Ballot Interference Prevention Act (BIPA) in the November 2018 Election.  Under BIPA, election administrators are required to have all ballot collectors register their contact information and each voter’s address for every ballot they deliver on behalf of a voter.
Below are tips that will help Montanans who wish to drop off ballots for family, friends, acquaintances, or caregivers remain in compliance with Montana law and a copy of the Ballot Collection Registry they will need to complete.  It is encouraged that you download and complete the registry and turn in while dropping ballots off.
Please contact the Clerk & Recorders office if you have any questions or concerns.
